"Hold on! Luna is still holding the Monster Queen back!"

Akint desperately shouted.

Before they knew it, it had been nearly half a day since the Monster Queen, Sillatna, had dragged Leo into the Curse of Severance.

Since that event, in which had seemed like an act of suicide.

Leo had been holding onto Sillatna for a long time.

'Was Luna always this skilled?'

Akint clenched his fist as he looked toward the location where the Curse of Severance had unfolded.

Luna certainly had the power to strike down a legion commander.

But that was strictly as a mage.

It is a different story when facing a legion commander alone in combat.

'Something was definitely strange about Luna today.'

She hadn't smiled as usual, nor had she boldly shouted to trust only in her.

She had simply delivered her words calmly.

'And that magic…'

A dazzling magic that had struck Sillatna directly came to Akint's mind.

A spell imbued with immense power, unlike anything he had ever seen.

Akint knew of a similar magic in different form.

'Professor Akint! Look at this! Amazing, right?'

'Yes! Truly amazing. If this spell is completed, the world will surely…'

'Yes! The world will be filled the world with flowers! The magic that makes flowers bloom will definitely be completed!'

'…You're not creating this to save the world?'

'Nope, that's just a bonus that comes with the completed blooming flower magic!'

The spell Luna had shown him once.

Even Akint, who had studied magic his entire life, couldn't fully understand that radiant spell.

'Could she have completed it?'

That was the only conclusion he could reach.

'If only Luna had comrades to protect her… then maybe there might be a chance to end this dreadful era.'

Luna was a flower just beginning to bloom.

If there were more like Luna who have infinite potential, then there was still hope in this era.

'She was a child that had long since left my hands.'

Thinking of his pupil, Akint unfolded his magic while staring down the approaching legion.

The assault of the legion was fierce.

Against that onslaught, the elves were like candles before the wind.

It is a situation where it would not be strange if they collapse at any moment.

Yet the elves tenaciously resisted the legion.

Those gathered here were all capable warriors who ready to throw themselves into a battle that would determine the fate of the world.

Of course, among them were some who were not yet worthy to stand here.

But just as many are fierce, they bear power worthy of being called heroes.

Moreover, the legion currently had no commander.

Though Sillatna's trusted lieutenants—fearsome and powerful demons—raged across the battlefield, they were unable to control the legion as a whole.

The legion, in essence, was an extension of the legion commander.

Only when a commander was present did it function at full capacity.

'If Luna defeats Sillatna…! Then victory in this battle is not a dream!'

Thinking that, Akint clenched his teeth as he gazed at the darkness approaching from afar.

Night was falling.

And when night came, it was certain that the battle would become even more difficult than now.

At that moment.

Crackle—!

A crack began to form in the air.

Akint's gaze shot toward it.

Crackle! Crash—!

As the space shattered, a gigantic demon emerged from the void.

"The Monster Queen!"

"Oh… my God…"

Seeing the Monster Queen freed from the Curse of Severance, the faces of the elves were immediately painted with despair.

"At last! Her Majesty has returned!"

"Victory shall be ours!"

In contrast, the morale of the Monster Queen's forces soared.

Sillatna's legion grew even more ferocious.

"AHAHAHAHAHA! I'm out! I'm finally free!"

Sillatna's desperate voice rang through the battlefield.

Her appearance was strange.

Blood poured from her entire body, cascading to the ground like a waterfall.

Where it touched the ground, a thick fog of poison spread.

At a glance, it looked threatening.

But looking at it another way, it meant her body had been torn apart to such an extent that she was shedding blood like a torrent.

The gruesome sight sent ripples of unease through the legion.

"Where's Luna?!"

Akint anxiously searched for Leo's whereabouts.

Then he saw her.

Standing in the sky with the darkening sky behind her.

A radiant light formed in Leo's hand.

The Star Sorcery—Extinction.

In an instant, the light pushed back the darkness.

Sillatna's legion immediately clumped together like a wall of flesh, forming a shield in front of her.

Leo's spell was blocked momentarily by the demon shield.

The shield, composed of the demon legion was annihilated, but Sillatna remained unscathed.

"Darkness is coming! Your time is over!"

A look of ecstasy spread across Sillatna's face.

She had been trapped by her own Curse of Severance, forced to endure endless terror.

But now, the elf who had given her that absolute fear was done for.

She had regained her legion, and night would soon engulf the world.

Now it was not she who feared, but that elf.

Sillatna's crazed smile distorted.

Because Leo didn't even spare her a glance.

He was staring off in one direction.

The direction the sun had set, ushering in the night.

The west.

"You… you dare ignore me to the very end!"

Fury surged through Sillatna, until she remembered something.

It was in the west where news had come of the downfall of the Gluttony King, once her comrade and the strongest of the legion commanders.

"No way…!"

Flash—!

A blinding light erupted from the west.

It pushed back the darkness across the world.

Everyone instinctively turned to face the place of that light had radiated.

"That's…!"

Among all the magic Leo knew, Extinction, created by Luna, was the most powerful in pure destructive force.

Nothing surpassed it in power, utility, or range.

However, under certain conditions, there was one magic that rivaled or even surpassed it.

A light magic that punished and destroyed evil beings.

"Judgment."

It was the unique spell of Lysinas, who had punished countless demons.

At the center of the light shining from the west stood a woman.

A beautiful woman with black hair, Lysinas had locked eyes with Leo for a brief moment.

Her face reflected both surprise and relief.

Then she smiled gently at Leo.

Drawing an arrow of light on a bow of light, she aimed at Sillatna and loosed it.

Flash—!

"KIIIIAAAAAAAHHH!"

A scream of agony burst from Sillatna's mouth.

In the original history, this was a battle that had long been lost.

'But now, things are different.'

History had changed.

Leo summoned his mage's staff.

And began to stir his mana.

The power of a spell is proportional to the time spent chanting.

Even the same spell grows stronger the longer its chant is extended.

The problem was that while chanting, a mage was defenseless.

And Leo stood in the middle of a battlefield.

Even though she had been struck by Lysinas's magic, the Monster Queen still lived, and so did her legion.

"You hideous little wretch! How dare you!"

Boom—!

Sillatna raised her arm to crush Leo.

"Hideous? Have your eyes rotted?"

A mocking voice rang out, and with it, a flash of gray aura.

Slashhh—!

In an instant, Sillatna's arm was shredded into pieces by the storm of sword aura, and fell to the ground as rain of blood.

"To call such a pretty elf hideous"

The one who used the gray aura then simultaneously followed up with magic and spirit power, setting Sillatna ablaze.

Boom! FWOOOOSH—!

The fire magic and fire elemental burned fiercely.

"KRAAAAH!"

Sillatna screamed in pain again, glaring with hatred at the young man with gray hair.

"All-Class! Are you the Surviving Hero?!"

"Yeah. It was a short meeting, but it was disgusting to meet you. Let's not meet again."

Kyle raised his middle finger at Sillatna and turned to Leo.

"Hey, pretty girl over there. Finish it."

'…Did I really used to talk like that?'

Leo's face twisted for a moment as he watched Kyle speak in that odd, cocky tone.

"Tch. Elves really are… unlucky, I've told you so"

Misreading Leo's expression, Kyle clicked his tongue.

"Tch."

Seeing that figure of his past self, Leo clicked his tongue in the same way and released the magic.

"Extinction."

A spell that would become the very symbol of despair to Tartaros in a distant future was once again cast from Leo's hand.

But this time, it was different.

Leo poured every last drop of power into the spell.

BOOOOOM—!

"AAAAAAHHH! O GOOOODDDDS!"

Sillatna's shriek echoed across the battlefield.

After the massive magical explosion, not a trace of the Monster Queen remained.

"…Crazy."

Kyle, seeing that, let out a voice of astonishment.

He clearly hadn't expected the spell to be this powerful.

Leo, having drained all his mana, staggered.

Thump—!

As he began to fall, someone caught his hand.

"Are you alright?"

Lysinas smiled gently and supported him.

"You're Luna, right?"

At her question, Leo nodded and asked in return.

"Do you know the name Rodia?"

"Hm? Who's that?"

"…No. Never mind."

'…Looks like Lysinas doesn't retain her memories in this world.'

Perhaps because this wasn't the world of heroes.

Leo muttered, and Lysinas replied.

"We'll take care of the rest. Kyle!"

Kyle nodded and headed to the ground to face the Monster Queen's legion.

bl

At the time night fell.

The outcome of the battle was the recapture of the Elven Forest.

As if, it was a natural result.

'Unlike last time, this time I was the one who defeated Sillatna.'

Leo looked down at his hand.

'In this case, I was alone in this world, so I could alter history… but what about the world where the demons have already invaded?'

Knowing the future was a massive variable in itself.

As Leo pondered the future—

"Luna!"

"Lady Luna!"

The elves rushed toward Leo, led by Akint.

Seeing them, Lysinas stepped forward and smiled softly.

"You must be Sir Akint? It is an honor to meet you. My name is Lysinas. Thank you for guiding us to this miraculous victory."

Akint shook his head.

"No. Without your help, we wouldn't have won. Thank you for your support."

As Lysinas and Akint conversed—

"Lady Luna! Are you alright?"

Helion came running over.

Seeing him, Leo said, "You survived."

"Yes… somehow…"

As Helion gave an awkward smile, Leo chuckled.

"Is your body alright?"

Kyle approached.

Leo frowned slightly looking at Kyle who was staring at him with a somewhat crooked face.

'Was I always this grumpy-looking?'

Seeing his former self from a 3rd-person view gave Leo a indescribable feeling.

"Elves, man. Do I piss you off just by looking?"

"That's not it."

Leo shook his head with a strange smile.

Kyle smirked.

"Then what? Did you fall for me?"

“How can you speak such rude words to Lady Luna!”

Helion snapped back.

Kyle simply looked indifferent at Helion.

And Leo thought, 'No wonder Lysinas and Luna used to bark at me sometimes. I really was punchable.'

As Leo wore a serious expression, reflecting on his past self—

[Mission Failed: World Collapse Imminent.]

A message flashed, followed by a burst of light.

As the light cleared, the scenery of the Plov territory came into view.

Leo stared at a blackened scrap of paper in his hand.

Ssshhh—

The page turned to ash and vanished.

'The failed mission must've caused the record to disappear.'

As he watched the record of the legion scatter into dust, Leo's expression darkened.

'I'll need to discuss this with Melina.'

He glanced to the side.

'Alright. Time to go wrap things up.'

Heading to the presence of Zorua he sensed, Leo began to walk and wondered to himself.

'Even I thought I was annoying. Why the hell did those two even fall for me?'

If Lysinas or Luna had heard that, they probably would've replied, "Yeah, exactly."
