[5000 years later? And reincarnation?]

“That’s right.”

Leo nodded as he watched Elsie’s confused expression.

[W-wait a moment. Let me sort this out. So, you’re saying it’s been 5000 years since the time I lived, and Erebos has been defeated? And you are the reincarnation of Kyle, the Surviving Hero?]

“That’s right.”

[Then how did I cross five thousand years to end up here?]

“In this era, there’s something called a Hero Record.”

[Hero Record?]

“It’s an artifact that inscribes the achievements of those whose deeds are recognized by the gods.”

Leo explained the concept of the Hero Record to Elsie.

[Then does that mean this world is now filled with elementals and mystical beasts from the past?]

“Not exactly. As far as I know, no elementals from a Hero Record has ever actually crossed into reality before. You’re the first.”

Hearing his explanation, Elsie once again looked out the window.

There was no ominous red moon to be seen anywhere.

Only a white moon and countless beautiful starlights she had heard of only in tales filled the night sky.

It was the very same night sky she had dreamed of.

[After seeing this view, I can’t help but believe what you said.]

Elsie’s black eyes reflected the night sky’s starlight as she turned to look at Leo.

[That means this must be an age of peace.]

“Yes. But I can’t say it’s an era of complete peace.”

[Why not?]

“It’s true that I defeated Erebos, but he wasn’t completely erased. And Tartaros still exists.”

[I see.]

“That’s why I’m going to destroy them.”

[Then I’ll help you.]

Elsie said it with determination.

[If this is reality, then I must be fated to stand with you.]

She already understood that she was bound to Leo.

[I can’t bear to see such a terrible age come again. I’ll do everything I can to help you.]

“Alright.”

[Then once again, I’ll be in your care, Kyle—no, Leo Plov.]

“Yeah. I’ll be counting on you, Elsie.”

After returning from Azonia, Leo spent his days resting leisurely.

Chelsea got along well not only with Leo but also with Reina.

Having grown close, Chelsea loved hearing stories of Reina’s school days.

“So, you were the Empress of Bastera, Lady Reina?”

It was the same team sport that was still often played in combat classes even now.

Chelsea was amazed hearing about Reina’s glory days in Bastera.

“Yes.”

“Wow!”

During breakfast, Dade chuckled as he watched the two chatting happily.

“Your mother seems to get along well with your friend.”

“Yeah.”

Lately, Chelsea had been soaking up all of Reina’s affection.

“By the way, Leo. Your homeroom professor’s home visit is today, right?”

“Yes.”

“Shouldn’t we prepare some kind of welcome reception?”

Dade asked with a slightly worried expression.

Professors from Lumene were held in the highest esteem no matter what country they visited.

And Harrid was a well-known professor whose name everyone recognized.

Having such a man visit without preparation was enough to make Dade uneasy.

“Professor Harrid actually dislikes any kind of formal preparation.”

“That’s right, Dade. He’s not fond of ceremony.”

“When he visited our house, we only served tea.”

Reina agreed with Leo’s words, and Chelsea nodded too.

That eased Dade’s concern a little.

And so, the morning passed.

Leo, Dade, and Reina waited for Harrid’s arrival.

When a servant announced his visit, Dade tensed slightly.

Soon, the doors of the Plov mansion opened, and Harrid entered together with Associate Professor Sena.

Dade stepped forward.

“It’s a pleasure to meet you, Professor Harrid. We’re honored by your visit to our estate.”

“Thank you for having me, Marquis Plov.”

Harrid greeted him politely.

Since this was a meeting between a parent and the teacher of his child, the atmosphere was appropriately formal.

“This is my wife.”

At Dade’s introduction, Harrid turned and froze for a moment at the sight of the woman smiling brightly and waving.

“It’s been a while, Professor Harrid. You’ve gotten a lot more wrinkles, haven’t you?”

“..Why are you here, Reina Zerdinger?”

“I go by Reina Plov now.”

Seeing Reina’s cheerful smile, Harrid let out a deep sigh.

He had a strong feeling this home visit would be an exhausting one.

“And why is Chelsea Lewellin here?”

“Yes, sir! I came to visit Leo-oppa during the break!”

Chelsea replied crisply.

Although she was one of the few students who didn’t get scolded too much by Harrid, that didn’t mean she wasn’t scared of him.

In truth, the only first-year who could act calm before Harrid was Leo.

No—across the entire academy, Leo was the only one.

And so, the home visit began in the living room.

Sitting across from Leo, Reina, and Dade, Harrid spoke to Sena beside him.

“The documents.”

“Here they are.”

Receiving them, Harrid handed the papers on Leo to Dade and Reina.

“I’ll get straight to the point. Your son’s talents are exceptional.”

Harrid continued in his usual impassive tone.

“In swordsmanship, magic, and summoning, he maintains top-tier grades across all three departments. His relationships with those around him are also smooth—in fact, his leadership skills are remarkable.”

“Ohh.”

Reina murmured in admiration as she gently ruffled her son’s hair, while her eyes skimmed through the evaluation documents Harrid had prepared.

“I couldn’t find any clear weaknesses. However, as a teacher, I do have three concerns. The first is his reserves of aura, mana, and spiritual power. Though he’s capable of explosive power and has improved greatly since the beginning of the semester, his weakness in prolonged battles still remains.”

“Hmm.”

Dade nodded.

“The second issue concerns specialization. He currently displays overwhelming skill in every field, but how long he can maintain that is uncertain. If he continues excelling in all areas, that’s ideal—but otherwise, I recommend he choose one discipline as his main focus.”

Harrid glanced meaningfully at Reina.

“I’m sure his mother will guide him well in that regard.”

Reina smiled faintly.

“And the third concern—this is just my personal opinion.”

Harrid let out a quiet sigh.

“Leo throws himself into danger far too readily.”

“What do you mean by that?”

At Dade’s question, Harrid answered seriously.

“Exactly as I said. The feats Leo Plov has accomplished this semester are astounding. It’s not merely because he’s an All-Class student. In the entire history of Lumene, there have been very few first-years who demonstrated such overwhelming ability. A fifteen-year-old boy has continuously achieved feats comparable to those of heroes.”

“Isn’t that a good thing?”

Dade looked puzzled.

It was Reina who answered him.

“It’s not necessarily good, Dade.”

She looked at Leo with serious eyes.

“Achieving such feats means risking your life.”

The Chubarne Subjugation.

The Skeleton King Subjugation.

The Gigantes Subjugation.

All astonishing achievements—unbelievable for a first-year.

They sounded glorious on the surface, but in truth, they meant Leo had risked his life every single time.

“He didn’t said anything, but I’ve been terribly worried.”

Dade’s expression hardened, and Reina gave Leo a stern look.

“At Lumene, there’s a saying—‘Do not face trials recklessly.’”

To become a hero, one must go through trials.

But trials always come hand in hand with death.

Though the Hero Academy existed to train heroes, it never recklessly threw its students into peril.

As a Lumene graduate herself, Reina knew well how dangerous the path Leo had taken was.

“Leo, may I ask why you push yourself so hard?”

“I’m sorry for worrying you. But I didn’t overdo it for the sake of it. I just couldn’t avoid it.”

Leo’s tone was calm.

“It’s true you shouldn’t face trials carelessly—but if your goal is to become a hero, you can’t avoid them either.”

Reina sighed deeply and pressed her hand against her forehead.

Having once dreamed of being a hero herself, she couldn’t bring herself to refute his words.

Harrid, too, let out a long sigh as he looked at Leo.

In truth, Leo had rarely acted recklessly.

Aside from the field trip incident, most of the trials he faced were unavoidable.

‘Leo is indeed different from the other students.’

Every student at Lumene aspired to be a hero.

That’s why they entered the academy in the first place.

But to Harrid, Leo wasn’t someone who admired heroes.

‘He simply has a goal he wants to achieve.’

He recalled what Leo had said at the start of the semester.

‘My goal is the complete annihilation of Erebos.’

At the time, he thought it was just a bold ambition.

But now—

‘Perhaps that truly is his purpose.’

Feeling a chill run down his spine, Harrid finally spoke.

“Lumene will do everything it can to help students reach their goals. Though there are points of concern, Leo is without question the finest student I’ve ever taught. So, in the coming semester, I’ll guide him to the best of my ability so that you both may have fewer worries.”

Harrid bowed deeply.

Sena, beside him, bowed as well.

If a student dreamed of becoming a hero, there was no reason to stop them.

That was the philosophy of the Hero Academy.

All they could do was provide every possible support to ensure their safety.

“We’ll be counting on you.”

“So will I, Professor Harrid.”

Dade and Reina bowed politely in return.

From the moment their son aimed for Lumene, they had been prepared for the dangers ahead.

There was no stopping him now.

When the home visit ended, Reina turned to Sena.

“By the way, Associate Professor Sena—how is it, working under Professor Harrid?”

“It’s scary… but he treats me well.”

“Hehe. Shall I tell you one of Professor Harrid’s weaknesses?”

“Huh?”

“Well, when he first became my homeroom teacher—”

“Reina Zerdinger. Unless you want to stand in the hallway with your hands up, I suggest you stop talking.”

“I’m not a student anymore! And I’m way too old for that kind of punishment!”

Reina snapped indignantly, and Harrid gave her a cold stare.

Leo shook his head, and Sena’s mouth fell open.

It was the first time she’d seen anyone talk back to Harrid like that.

Watching the scene from outside the living room, Chelsea whispered in awe.

“Unbelievable. No one’s gonna believe this story when I tell them.”

Amused by the spectacle, Chelsea grinned.

After the home visit, the vacation days passed.

Leo opened a letter from the northern region.

It was from Lunia and Eiran, both students of Seiren.

‘Hey, you heartless guy! Not even one letter from you? Anyway! How are you? You’re not slacking on your studies, right?’

‘Leo-nim, how have you been? I’ve been studying hard every day so that I can become an exchange student at Lumene.’*

“Looks like they’re both doing well.”

Smiling, Leo wrote replies to the two of them and looked out the window.

There was only a week of vacation left.

“In two days, I’ll be heading back to Lumeria City.”

Thinking of the coming semester, Leo smiled faintly.
